Writing

I’m currently working on a novel I got the idea for in 2009. I initially wrote around 28 poorly written pages, got distracted and discouraged, and put the book on hold. I’m thankful that ideas don’t “go bad.” The novel is an allegory, and it’s called Picture of the Heart or as we fondly refer to it here, POTH.

I began to get some writing traction in 2013 but put the project on hold again until 2018 after joining a writers guild and an online writing course. I’ve learned more this year about writing than ever. The most important lesson I’ve learned is one that applies to everyone; hard work pays off. The second lesson I’ve learned is also simple yet crucial to success, and that is to be a good writer you must write. Writing every day is the key to perfecting your craft.

Currently, I’m editing chapter 6 of approximately 15 chapters which I expect to increase to 20+. I hope to finish my edits this year and have it published next year.

If you’re interested in following my journey, this will be the place for updates on my writing as well as other short stories which will be released first right here.
